Not every job is pretty but every job gets us one step closer.

Today marks the start of some important structural work on the chimney breast, not the most glamorous part of the renovation, but absolutely essential to getting everything right.

Once that’s complete, we can turn our attention back outside, finishing the garden and getting the CCTV installed.

There’s still plenty to do, plenty of dust to clear and a fair few jobs on the list but slowly, the cottage is becoming what we envisioned 🙌

It’s all a work in progress — and we can’t wait to show you the finished result.

A little cottage update from us 🏡

Parts of it are still very much a building site, and some rooms haven’t even been touched yet but the transformation so far has genuinely taken our breath away. Our vision is finally coming to life.

We can’t wait to share the finished result with you, though we’ll admit, we’ll be a little sad when the dust finally settles!

This afternoon, Tony has been working his magic in the beck, carefully installing lighting along the side of the cottage.

Picture the water glowing softly after dark, its gentle sound drifting through the garden as you unwind outside, or simply carrying through the stillness indoors.

We’re nearly ready to open our doors and welcome you to something truly special 🙌

The cottage is transforming before our eyes.

Over the past few days, carpets have been laid throughout, the downstairs bedroom furniture assembled, and the living room sofas, including the sofa bed are now in place. (Bear with us on the current chaos, we’re still very much mid-build.)

But the vision? It’s coming to life 🥰

A little progress goes a long way.

We stole a few hours this afternoon to head over to the cottage and every visit counts.

While Tony worked his way through some glossing; skirting boards, doorways, and that stunning living room window seat, I tackled some window sills and put together some new furniture pieces for the living room space.

It’s fair to say the cottage is beautifully chaotic right now, but we’re steadily working through our list with intention.

Between us, we run multiple businesses and work seven days a week, so spare time is precious and we’re choosing to spend it doing things properly without shortcuts. No rushing, just a commitment to getting every detail right.

We truly believe the wait will be worth it and when the doors finally open, we want you to walk in and feel it.

That wow moment is what we’re working towards, one glossed skirting board at a time 🥰

Tony spent this afternoon at the cottage repainting the panelling along the upper staircase.

It might not be the most thrilling update, but it does bring us a step closer to having the staircase carpeted once the repainting is complete.

The to-do list still feels endless, but we’re making steady progress, one job at a time.

On a lighter note, our resident ducks paid us another visit today—any suggestions for what we should call them?

We had such a fun afternoon at the cottage, wallpapering the downstairs bedroom while playing 90s classics.

I’m absolutely in love with this wallpaper! It is a soft neutral with a subtle silver tint, a hint of sparkle, and a lovely textured finish.

It’s giving boutique hotel vibes, and the gorgeous wall lights from John Lewis complete the look perfectly.

In the morning, open the French doors and take in the soothing sound of water flowing alongside the cottage with the added charm of ducks gliding peacefully by.
