Buck Island Campground Welcome to a quiet piece of paradise located along the Dan River in Danbury, North Carolina just outside of Hanging Rock. Offering fun primitive camping.

We are Karen and Kevin Wiseman and so excited to be the new owners of this lovely campground. Formerly known as J and J Campground we are situated in the Sauratown Mountains in Danbury, NC, just steps away from Hanging Rock State Park. We are located along 1500 feet of the Dan River and we have BIG plans for this small, but growing family friendly campground. Buck Island Campground has 4 Campsites with Shelters and 1 unsheltered. All campsites have picnic tables, fire pits, benches and plenty of room for multiple tents. We are a primitive campground with a beach volleyball court, basketball court, swings for the kiddies, fishing and swimming. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sauratown_Mountains
