Ko Rotoaira te roto. 💧

For us, this place is more than a destination.

Our connection to Rotoaira is one of whakapapa — a connection carried through generations, through our tūpuna, our whenua and the stories that belong here.

The names you see throughout Te Puna o Rotoaira — Heretoa, Poutū, Ōpotaka and Kōtukutuku — are not simply names given to our accommodation. They connect back to the places that surround us and are a reminder that everything here sits within a much bigger story.

Rotoaira is part of who we are.

It is our whenua, our whakapapa, our history and our home.

As Te Puna o Rotoaira grows, we want to continue sharing the kōrero of the places, people and connections that make us who we are.

So, every now and then, we’ll take you a little deeper into the kōrero behind the place you see when you visit us.

Because Rotoaira isn’t simply our backdrop.

It is part of who we are. 💚

He taonga tuku iho. 🌿

We’re proud of what’s been built here at Te Puna o Rotoaira - modern cabins, spaces for whānau to gather, and a campground our manuhiri can genuinely enjoy. But what makes a stay here different goes beyond what we’ve built. It’s waking up beside Rotoaira. It’s the whenua beneath us. The places our cabins carry the names of. The whakapapa and history that surround this rohe. And now, we get to share a little of that with every person who stays with us. Modern in what we offer, grounded in where we come from 🤎

As we continue growing Te Puna o Rotoaira, feedback from our manuhiri helps us understand what we’re doing well — and where we can keep improving.

From our first guest feedback responses, cleanliness and staff helpfulness were recognised by every respondent, alongside positive feedback around our peaceful setting, accommodation, check-in experience and location. 🌿

We’ve also received helpful feedback around after-hours access and Wi-Fi/connectivity, which gives us clear areas to continue working on.

Ngā mihi nui to our manuhiri who have taken the time to complete our feedback form. Your feedback genuinely helps us improve the experience we provide. 💚

Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Puna o Rotoaira Campground.

Sitting on the shores of Lake Rotoaira, Te Puna o Rotoaira is a place grounded in our whenua, our people and the stories that surround us.

Our campground has been thoughtfully redeveloped to create a place where whānau and manuhiri can stay, connect and experience Rotoaira — while keeping our connection to this whenua at the heart of what we do.

That connection is woven throughout our campground, from the names of our cabins and spaces to the colours, designs and details you see along the way.

Whether you’re here to stay, explore, fish, reconnect with whānau or simply enjoy the beauty of Rotoaira — nau mai, this is Te Puna o Rotoaira.

Created with purpose. Shared with you. 🌿

A quick look through Te Puna o Rotoaira — from our different cabin types to our papa tākaro and the taiao that surrounds it all.

There’s thought woven into the details here too. 💙 The deep navy of our cabins reflects the waters of Rotoaira, while the warm volcanic tones framing the cabins draw from the rock and volcanic landscape surrounding us (Matua Tongariro). Natural timber brings another connection to the whenua, with those same volcanic tones carried through into our papa tākaro☺️

Small details, intentionally chosen to help the campground sit within — rather than apart from — its natural surroundings. 🌿

A place to stay, gather, explore and enjoy Rotoaira ✨
