Bloemfontein is starting to heat up with the Currie Cup and local festivals. All of us Cheetah supporters are crossing fingers and toes that they win the semi final and ultimately the finals. Make sure to keep an eye on the fixtures, as all of us are hoping for the final to be held here in Bloemfontein. There is also the Macufe Festival happening from 3 September till 13 September, and the Lemo festival on the weekend of 3 October. This is a busy time period in Bloemfontein, and a lot of accommodation establishments are booked out early. It's that time of year again for the Free State University to host the Vryfees Festival. The festival will run from 7 - 11 July, and has plenty of attractions from delicious food, colorful art to entertaining shows. A traditional Bloemfontein winter consists of warm pleasant days and cold evenings, so if you do go to the festival, make sure to bring a light jacket should the weather change. We have also closed up our swimming pool due to the cold weather, however the lapa and braai facilities are open for our in house guests. Whenever anyone plans a holiday to a new destination, the first step is to go on Google and check popular sites like Booking.com or Lekkeslaap. These websites are easy to work with and normally list a lot of accommodation options which can help you choose a place that suits your budget or location. Alternatively, you can check which places pop up in the search and make a booking directly with the accommodation establishment. Dealing directly can also be cheaper as no commission is involved, and you can notify the staff about any requirements such as dietary restrictions. Just remember that any extras you add on such as meals, an extra person or extra night needs to be communicated to reception and settled before departure.
