School holidays are around the corner, and winter is one of the best times to escape to the mountains.

Spend your days exploring farm trails, fishing in the dam, spotting birdlife, and discovering local favourites like Beaumont and Gabriëlskloof. Then head back to the farm for a soak in the wood fired hot tub, a marshmallow braai, and family board games by the fire.

No screens. No traffic. No packed schedules.
Just fresh mountain air, wide open spaces, and quality family time.

If you're looking for a family getaway these school holidays, Black Eagle Lodges is ready to welcome you.

When the girls’ trip finally makes it out of the group chat.

It starts with "We really need to plan something."

Then come the voice notes, the screenshots, the calendar checks, and the inevitable, "Maybe next month?"

Until one day, someone finally books it.

Whether it's a girls' getaway, a weekend with your sisters, or your running club heading for the mountains, Black Eagle Lodges is the perfect place to reconnect.

Think trail runs through the fynbos, wood fired hot tubs, wine by the fire, and long conversations that pick up exactly where they left off.

The best memories are often made in the moments nobody planned. The morning coffee, the shared laughter, and the quiet moments in between.

If you've been waiting for a sign to stop talking about it and start booking it, this is it.

There is something incredibly special about staying somewhere that feels completely removed from the noise of everyday life.

Tucked away in the mountains, our self catering Lodge was designed for slow mornings, quiet evenings by the fire, and the kind of comfort that makes it difficult to leave.

Perfect for a romantic couple’s retreat, yet spacious enough to accommodate up to six guests across three cosy bedrooms, with an additional loft space for two children above the fireplace.

The main bedroom offers magnificent mountain views, a king size bed dressed in 100% cotton linen, and its own private fireplace for colder winter nights.

Eco friendly, secluded, and deeply connected to nature, The Lodge invites you to experience the beauty of the farm without compromising on comfort.

This is the kind of place where memories are made slowly, quietly, and wholeheartedly.

There is something incredibly special about this time of year at Black Eagle Lodges.

After the beautiful rains, the farm has come alive again. The landscape is greener, fuller, and more lush in every direction. Wild flora and proteas stand proudly amongst the fynbos, while fresh growth stretches across the mountains and valleys around us. It is the kind of beauty that makes you slow down without even realising it.

Farm life moves differently here. Slower mornings. Fires lit as the sun disappears behind the mountains. Walks taken without needing a destination. Quiet moments interrupted only by birdsong, rustling leaves, and the occasional curious animal passing by.

This season invites you to pause for a little longer. To breathe deeper. To reconnect with the simple things that somehow mean the most.

Some things simply belong together. Cool farm air. Quiet surroundings. A glass of wine within reach. And a wood fired hot tub waiting for you at the end of the day.

There is nothing quite like sinking into warm water while the air around you turns crisp and still. Watching the landscape soften as the sun disappears. Listening to nothing but nature and the crackle of the fire keeping the tub warm long into the evening.

At Black Eagle Lodges, the wood fired hot tubs are not just an added extra. They are part of the experience. The kind you end up talking about long after you leave.
Slow down. Stay longer. Warm up properly.
