A closer look at one of the garden’s more unusual harvests: purple heirloom potatoes, grown in the nursery at Camps Bay Retreat. With genetics tracing back more than 100 years, these naturally deep-coloured potatoes are known for their deeply earthy flavour and subtle nutty notes, bringing both history and character to the kitchen. Grown, harvested and prepared with care, they are part of the garden-to-table approach that shapes the dining experience at Camps Bay Retreat.

Fed by fresh mountain water from the waterfall above, our Nature Pool is one of the retreat’s most distinctive features. Surrounded by natural vegetation and mountain views, the pool brings the landscape into the experience, with cool, clear water and a setting shaped by the elements. One of the season's most anticipated arrivals, the Clivia, is starting to open in vibrant shades of orange and gold beneath the forest canopy. Native to Southern Africa and known for thriving in shaded woodland environments, these striking blooms create a colourful display along our Clivia Walk. Take a stroll through the forest, follow the winding pathways, and experience this seasonal spectacle as it comes to life.
