Long before it became the peaceful setting you see today, the quarry at the heart of our property was a working quarry, supplying stone for the ballast used in East London's historic tramway system.

Over time, the quarry closed, filled with underground water and became the lake that now forms such an important part of Quarry Lake Inn. Today, guests can stay alongside this piece of local history, with the lake, gardens and birdlife right outside their rooms.
