Bushman Paintings Trail | Ride Into History

The Bushman Paintings Trail takes you on a memorable horseback expedition through the plains and mountains of Moolmanshoek, deep into the spectacular Eastern Free State landscape. Spend approximately 2 to 3 hours in the saddle, enjoying spirited canters where the terrain allows, followed by peaceful mountain stretches where you can slow down and take in the scenery.

The highlight of the journey awaits beneath a sandstone overhang, where you can discover ancient Bushmen paintings believed to be more than 700 years old, offering a glimpse into the lives and stories of the people who once lived in these mountains.
