Iris Retreat is a secluded boutique hideaway of four individually designed deluxe cabins, complemented by a private bush spa and wood-fired hot tub set apart for quiet, unhurried indulgence. Elegant self catering bungalows with private kitchens containing most of the basics needed to prepare light meals. All units have A/C, DSTV, private bathrooms, some of which are just outside the bedrooms, and

some with outdoor showers. Our unique ISLAND & RIVER SPA, are situated on a natural island in the middle of the Magalies River and on the banks of the river. an outdoor experience and bookings are ESSENTIAL, our jacuzzi needs to be booked in advance (for a fee). Escape the hustle and bustle of our nearby cities, and head to our venue for some relaxation and down time. Enjoy our glorious large swimming pool and deck area with waterfall and relaxing deckchairs All this less than a 1 hour enjoyable drive from Fourways or Pretoria.

Welcome to the World, Baby Jack!

There is something truly special about life in the countryside. The changing seasons, the early morning birdsong, and occasionally, a wonderful surprise that reminds us how magical nature can be.
On Monday, 27 April, we were delighted to welcome our newest resident to Iris Retreat – a beautiful baby donkey named Jack.
Born right here on the property, Jack arrived safely and has already captured our hearts. Curious, playful, and impossibly cute, he has been exploring his surroundings under the watchful eye of his proud mum Jenny and dad Jasper.
Guests who stay with us often tell us that one of the things they love most about Iris Retreat is the feeling of slowing down and reconnecting with nature. Jack's arrival is a perfect reminder of the simple joys that country life brings.
There's something incredibly calming about watching the donkeys grazing peacefully, listening to the sounds of the river nearby, and taking a moment to appreciate the little things that so often go unnoticed in our busy daily lives.
If you're visiting us over the coming months, you may be lucky enough to spot Jack taking his first adventures around the property. Please remember that, like all young animals, he needs plenty of space and time with his mum as he grows and gains confidence.
We look forward to sharing updates as Jack grows and becomes part of the Iris Retreat family.
