We’ve been giving our website a little refresh over the past few weeks – and one of the things we loved working on most was our personal guide to some of our favourite places and experiences around the Whale Coast. 💙

Some mornings begin differently.

No traffic.
No notifications.
No rush.

Just the call of an African Fish Eagle echoing across the lagoon, a cup of coffee on the terrace, and sometimes... a family of Cape Spurfowl quietly wandering across the deck.

That is one of the things we love most about MBIZI Lagoon House.

Birdwatching here isn't an activity you schedule – it simply becomes part of your day.

The Botrivier Lagoon is one of the Western Cape's most important wetland ecosystems and home to an incredible variety of birdlife. From elegant flamingos and colourful kingfishers to majestic African Fish Eagles, every day brings something different.
