The beauty of farms is that they teach us about seasons- seasons to grow, seasons to rest, to change, and to begin again.

As one season closes, another quietly unfolds.

For us that means that although large commercial sale has come to an end, our farm continues to focus on welcoming guests through our accommodation and events as well as our farm shop where you can find some of your favourite Oudewerfskloof products.

Our restaurant is taking a little pause while renovations take place, and we look forward to sharing this exciting next chapter with you.

Meet the Team Monday~

Today for Meet the Team Monday, we get to know Annerise a little bit more.

Annerise is based in Stilbaai and runs the hospitality side of the farm and is passionate about tourism, hospitality and creating meaningful experiences for guests.

With more than a decade of experience in the tourism industry, she has worked across corporate travel, destination marketing, and tourism development.

Her years at Stilbaai Tourism provided her with valuable insight into the local tourism landscape and strengthened her love for the town and its community. She is passionate about connecting people with places and showcasing the unique experiences that make the area so special.

When she is not working, Annerise enjoys playing netball, running, and spending time outdoors with her husband and son, making the most of the incredible lifestyle that Stilbaai has to offer.

At the heart of every business are people — and behind those people are families, dreams, and achievements worth celebrating.

We are incredibly proud to have been part of Monique’s son, Nahum’s journey. He qualified for the Western Cape Chess Championship at just 7 years old — an incredible achievement in his very first year of playing chess, and making him the youngest chess player at his school to qualify.

Watching our team members and their families achieve great things is something we celebrate together. Well done, Nahum, on winning 3 out of your 6 games and representing with such determination.

Today for our Meet the Team Monday, we introduce you to our Farm Manager, Basil.

Basil started his Agricultural Management profession in 1998 and specialised in the Olive industry from 2014.
Basil has an extensive work experience in the Agricultural industry which includes not only working with olives but also with table grapes, pomegranates and figs.

He sees everyday as a learning opportunity. “The thing, after so many years in this field, that still to this day fascinates me about this field, is that it is an on going learning process”
In 2024, Basil was awarded SA Olive Agriworker of the year award which is such a great achievement.

Basil was born and bred in Namaqualand. He is married with two children and three grandchildren.
As relaxation, he loves spending time with his family and at times takes a roadtrip to his hometown, just for a breather and new strength.
“In these uncertain times and days it’s mandatory to, at times set the world aside, to find and hear your hearbeat again. On a Farm is where I find mine.”

Meet the Team Monday~
Today we introduce you to our Operations Manager, Esti Joubert.
Esti has a B.Comm in Law and Business Management (LLB and LLM) and started with OWK in March 2019.
Esti grew up on her family farm in the Free State, where her family continues to farm.
She is married with two children, who keep her very busy.
In her free time, she plays piano, netball and loves spending time with her family outdoors.
When she gets a chance during the holidays, she loves to visit her family at the farm.

Gravel Burn~ 7 days. 800 kilometers. One wild adventure — completed! 💥

Our very own farm owner, Dr Hannes Brummer, took on the Gravel Burn — a 7-day, 800km gravel stage race from Knysna to Shamwari Game Reserve, winding through the vast, rugged beauty of the Great Karoo.

Through freezing rain, 70kph winds, and scorching heat, the racing was fierce and the grit was tested — but Dr Brummer conquered every single stage and crossed the finish line at the end of the 7 days.

Here’s to resilience, adventure, and that unstoppable farm-tough spirit!
