THROWBACK TO 2016! 🎪

𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 & 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗱 t𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 u𝘀!

Taking a trip down memory lane to 2016, when Chiefs Tented Camps set up camp for the **Broville Festival!**

Festivals bring people together, and we bring the accommodation! From temporary tented villages to fully serviced group camps, we create accommodation solutions where they're needed, whether it's a music festival, sporting event or large-scale gathering.

Ten years later, we're still doing what we do best – arriving on an open piece of land, building a temporary home for hundreds of guests, and packing it all away when the last guest leaves.

Others are measured in the people who made them happen. Others are measured by how they make people feel.

Built from the ground up.
Lived in for a moment.
Remembered for a very long time.
Mission A'Chiefed

Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry brought the All Blacks back to South Africa for their first major tour in 30 years – part of a rugby rivalry that stretches all the way back to 1921.

For Chiefs Tented Camps, it meant building a temporary home at Mongena for more than 800 guests, crew and suppliers.

A few numbers that still make us wonder how on earth we pulled it all off:

800+ guests accommodated
485 tents on site
320 guest tents
2,388 m² of dining & lounge stretch canvas
850 m² of additional communal canvas
3,238 m² of communal canvas in total
2,110 chairs
185 tables
2,450 lights
900,000 litres of water
11,230 meals served
2.7 km of electrical cable
1.5 km of water piping
2.2 km electric fencing
27 DB boards
160 kVA power
27,000 man-hours
Not to mention, showers poured, beds made, dishes washed, floors swept, fires made.
One helluva team
We can't take credit for the big skies and millions of stars!

And then, just like that, we packed it all away again.

But numbers only tell half the story.

A huge thank you to Mongena Private Game Reserve for the perfect Big Five wild bush location The Culinary Team for the most incredible meals (about 11,230, right?) - Old School Group All Blacks Travel & Hospitality; our suppliers, our crew and every single person who rolled up their sleeves and became part of this rather extraordinary operation.

It took planning, patience, teamwork, long days, short nights, a good sense of humour and a whole lot of people saying, *“Right, what needs doing next?”*

What a privilege to have played our small part in **Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry**.

Miles of untouched coastline, Atlantic breezes and footprints that disappear with the tide...and sunsets that make you forget what time it is.

Where strangers become friends and every evening ends with millions of stars overhead, the sound of the ocean in the distance, and stories shared under an impossibly big sky.

Sleep in. Wander. Picnic. Read. Watch the sunset. Repeat.
