The Ubuntu Queens up on the hill.

The Ubuntu Queens is a closely knit group of about 30 young girls from the local community, who come together under the guidance of Zanele Maschinini and artists in residence at NIROX and the Kromdraai Impact Hub, to develop skills, commune and be inspired. As regular participants in diverse social impact initiatives with NIROX and FARMHOUSE58, the Queens inspire and engage with artists, guests, and staff - fostering mutual understanding through shared experiences.

The soil knows winter. It has known many winters, more than we have names for. Here in the Cradle of Humankind, the earth does not panic at the cold. It simply folds inward, as elders do. Conserving. Remembering. We embrace this. We follow it. Those who live and work this land have always known that the ground gives back what you give it.
