Lodge, Retreat, Self catering chalets and huts Welcome to Eingedi Retreat. We are passionate about family and living according to the Scriptures.

We are located in the South Eastern Free State between Ladybrand and Hobhouse on a beautiful, tranquil game farm with views of the Maluti mountains. Our lifestyle is based on the Hebrew perspective of our Christian faith where we enjoy celebrating the feasts and living in a community setting. We are a family friendly resort catering for guests who enjoy wildlife/nature. We cater for outdoor enthus

iasts who enjoy hiking, walking, game viewing, swimming & braaing. It is a working, self sustainable farm with many domestic animals (birds, geese, ducks, chickens, sheep, donkey and horses) on it for children to enjoy. We can cater for up to 50 guests in self catering thatch roof accommodation consisting of chalets and wooden huts. We also have caravan and camping sites. We offer conference facilities. In the near future we will have 4 x 4 game drives, outrides on horseback and a non-licensed restaurant. If you enjoy a remote, quiet tranquility without cellphone coverage, come and enjoy what Eingedi has to offer.

Heading towards the Finishing Line 🏃🏼🏃‍♀️🎊

Oh yes, we are on the home stretch of this big, challenging, and rewarding project👏🏻

The braai area looks stunning with its little counter-sunk basin & curved counters, and only requires the final coats of deck oil, and the welding of the braai grid metal structures.

The deck has had its final application of deck oil; the flowerpot looks beautiful with happy little pansy faces, and the wisteria is celebrating the new look stoep, by being in full bloom🤗
(Our little twin boys loved being part of all these final tweaks😊)

The outdoor furniture is back in its place, and we had our first dinner on the deck😋

Last on the list ---> the lighting💡💡(watch this space!)

The Braai and Countertop🔥🎉🤗

What a masterpiece ⚒💪🏻👏🏻

A challenge for Kevin, who had never before thrown a curved top.

After building a very sturdy frame, checking for strength, the concrete was thrown and floated.

And just to add to the challenge, the ladies asked for a counter-sunk basin in the slab....
Out of the kitchen came the right-sized stainless steel bowl.

Headway🤗

The slabs and walkways turned out beautifully.

Now the last big part of the project is the braai area🔥Walls have been built and the first braai slab thrown.🤗

And the water feature is back in place💧🎉
Yay, at last.

Ramping up the Project⚒💪🏻

We are now ready to throw the slab and first ramp around the beautiful sandstone braai wall, which had been completed (to the builder's great relief!)👏🏻

Many helping hands...little ones too😊

The deck railing is starting to look really good 🤗

The end of the labour-intensive part of the project....is in sight🥸🤗

Slowly wrapping up🎉👏🏻⚒

The sundeck floor boards are all in place and looking great🤗

The fire-pit has taken shape🔥, and the edges around the verandah are being neatened & finished off.

A poplar pole partition has been built to close up the opening between the Dining Hall and Conference Centre...a great idea to stick to natural local supplies🎉

And the final wall around the braai area is slowly growing in height and definition⚒

All very beautiful and exciting💪🏻🎉⚒

What a Week🤗⚒🎉

The steps are all done, the flower-pot is looking beautiful, the deck is almost finished, the most difficult part of the slab and walkway are laid out, concrete thrown & floated, and the end result looks stunning🤗🎉

Project Update⚒💪🏻

After the mishap with the screed not binding well, and having to be removed, it has been redone and looking good🤗

Unfortunately our builder had to be hospitalized which slowed down progress. Thankfully, we now have another one that started this week, and we are on track again.

The deck is growing by the day, the walkway is taking shape, steps are being built, the sandstone plant pot is looking beautiful, and the preparation work has been done for the throwing of the next part of the slab.

Meantime, quietly behind all the busyness, Spring is moving onto Eingedi with our plum tree being in full bloom with stunning snow-white blossoms.

Progress⚒👏🏻🎉

We have started with the long pathway...too sweet how the little boys are 'helping' under Papa's watchful supervision🤓🤩🤩

The verandah levels and slab all the way to the braai area, are looking absolutely wonderful....such a pleasant change.

We collected our balau wood for the deck🤗...starting on that next week hopefully.

The potplants have had an overhaul - new coat of paint, new soil & compost, a good pruning, and layer of mulch. They should look stunning once established.

Our builder could only work 3 days this week, so progress is going a little slower than anticipated.

We are Progressing🎉⚒

We have experienced a really cold snap with drizzle and an impressive layer of frost❄❄❄❄

But work continued 👏🏻⚒

The heavy silver old gate was removed...at last👏🏻, and the mulberry tree had to be felled in order to open up the area in preparation for the next section of our slab.

What a pleasant change to see the transformation of the area, as it is levelled into something far more flowing and pleasing to the eye🤓

Well done to the team.....we are almost ready to throw the last big slab🎉👏🏻⚒

Week 2 with LOTS of ACTION🤗🎉⚒💪

With the drizzle, progress has been a little tedious, but much has happened.

》The slab work has progressed to the second leg
》The braai area wall is growing higher and looking beautiful
》Jack-hammer work is being continued in preparation for the next part of the slab
》Holes are being dug for the deck poles
》Paint is being mixed and the pots painted in readiness for the finishing touches

And 2 little people are loving being part of all the action🤩🤩
