Verlorenkloof Estate is home to a remarkable stone-walled heritage legacy and lies at the heart of an extensive Late Iron Age archaeological landscape stretching along the escarpment from Carolina to Ohrigstad.

Its rolling hills are marked by ancient stone-walled homesteads, cattle tracks, and agricultural terraces, offering a fascinating glimpse into the lives of those who once called this region home. With more than 120 recorded archaeological sites, Verlorenkloof has spent over a decade working alongside leading South African and international archaeologists and historians to preserve and better understand this extraordinary heritage.
