THE CELLAR.
In the 1920s, long before it held w**e, the cellar was a food store - cool and sheltered, where preserves, fruit and vegetables, grains, dairy and cured meat were kept for the seasons ahead. A practical and essential part of life at the homestead.
The stone-clad walls have since witnessed generations come and go, and while the purpose may have evolved, the character hasn’t. The cool, intimate space remains bound to the traditions of food, hospitality and gathering.
Today the cellar weaves that practical past into Torburnlea Homestead’s present - a place to linger, to share, and to discover a carefully curated collection from exceptional South African boutique w**eries.
Still preserving something precious, patiently waiting for the moment it can be shared.
