🌊 If you keep the kids happy, everything else falls into place.

That was always the philosophy of Sue and Jeff - Richard’s parents - when they ran Morgan Bay Hotel and it still holds true today.

From running down sand dunes and building endless sandcastles, to swimming in the pool, exploring cliff paths and meeting the local “residents” ... the cows 🐄), there’s no shortage of adventure here.

Family, friends and guests gathered to kick off our 80th birthday weekend celebrations. Stories were shared, laughter filled the room and music set the tone as we toasted 80 years of the Morgan Bay Hotel on the Wild Coast.

Founded by the Warren-Smith family in 1946 and now proudly run by third-generation Richard Warren-Smith and his wife Jackie — let's raise a glass to many more milestones ahead 🥂!

June and July in Morgan Bay mean one thing: the Sardine Run 🌊🐬

For just a few weeks each winter, billions of sardines migrate up South Africa’s east coast, passing right by our shores in a shimmering silver shoal — a natural phenomenon found nowhere else on earth but South Africa.
Their arrival draws dolphins, sharks, whales, gannets and seals into an incredible feeding frenzy, turning the ocean into one of nature’s greatest spectacles.

A rare winter wonder, right on our doorstep.
