Look at this incredible perspective! 🛰️🌊 The massive plume of brown water muddying the ocean along the shores of the Gourtis River Mouth around the corner from Kanon tells an amazing geographical story.

Following the recent severe storms, these floodwaters have travelled roughly 300 to 400+ kilometres from where the heavy rains first started falling in the dry interior of the Great Karoo and Little Karoo. Gathering momentum from the Gamka and Olifants rivers, from various tributaries it likely took 1 to 4 days for this intense torrent to surge through the spectacular mountain poorts and race down the Gourits River to finally break out into the sea.
