We are seeking a passionate, creative, and hardworking Junior Pastry Chef to join our professional kitchen team in Roodeplaat, Pretoria, Gauteng.
The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality pastries, desserts, baked goods, and plated desserts while maintaining exceptional hygiene and food quality standards.
This role is ideal for a young chef looking to grow within a fast-paced hotel or restaurant environment.

ยท Prepare pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and baked items according to recipes and presentation standards
ยท Assist the Head Chef with daily mise en place and kitchen preparation
ยท Ensure consistency, freshness, and quality of all pastry products
ยท Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with food safety regulations
ยท Assist with stock control and ingredient management
ยท Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients
ยท Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
ยท Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn

ยท Culinary qualification or pastry certification advantageous

ยท Basic knowledge of pastry techniques and baking methods
ยท Passion for desserts, baking, and presentation
ยท Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
ยท Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
ยท Good communication and teamwork skills
ยท Reliable transport to and from work
