Just 25 km from Station House, Franschhoek is one of those places that deserves to be explored slowly. 🍃
Originally settled by French Huguenots in the late 17th century, the valley has grown into one of South Africa’s most celebrated food and wine destinations — while still holding onto its village character and rich heritage.
Spend the day wandering along Huguenot Street, discovering galleries and little corners of the village, tasting your way through some of the Cape’s most beautiful wine estates. Become a local and join the Franschhoek Village Market on a Saturday, or hop aboard the Wine Tram for a different way to explore the valley.
And then, when the day is done, head back to the quieter side of the Winelands.
Back to Simondium. Back to Station House.
