Perhaps what we all need at this time of year isn’t more productivity.

Perhaps it’s a walk through the woods in a warm coat. A quiet horse ride. A book by the fire. A dip in cold water if you’re feeling brave.

The world is always asking us to hurry, but nature rarely does.

After weeks of rain, the sunshine today feels even sweeter. The courtyard fills with little puddles of warmth, the kitchen fire burns all day, and the bedrooms are made cosy with crackling fireplaces and extra blankets.

It’s the season for warm socks and horse rides on sunny afternoons and finally finishing that book you’ve been carrying around for months.

This might just be our favourite time of year...as autumn turns to winter.
