We started a Mandela Day project to upgrade the entrance of Blouwaterbaai which is ultimately the entrance of Saldanha Bay. We encouraged locals to come and spend their 67 minutes working preparing the soil for the garden. We asked businesses for their time and support and we have been overwhelmed with the outcome.
A big thank you to the following people and businesses who made this possible.
Firstly Kyle from The Bay Club and Social who initiated this project, without your vision it would have never taken shape.
The team at Blue Bay Lodge especially Rozanne who brought this all together with amazing planning and then Tiaan who brought his knowledge and green fingers in the garden.
Sean Robinson from SDR projects for upgrading and building of the wall. Frank Pronk from Frank's Hardware for donating plants, Jason from Brights for the building material, Alwyn for the tree felling, Suritha du Plessis from ward 5 for the backing from SBM, Signage for doing the sign for us at cost, Vula for the donating of plants, Natgro for the compost and then of course each and every person who donated funds and plants so that we could get this over the line.
We truly are stronger together and we hope that each one of you give yourself a big high five each time you drive past the wall for the massive difference you have made to the beautification of our dorp.
