Pearly Shells Comfortable spacious and fully equipped self-catering holiday apartments. Self-catering holiday apartments each with superb views of the sea and lagoon.

Ideally situated within walking distance to safe bathing, tidal pool, super tube and mini golf courses as well as being close to shopping centres and restaurants. There are 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom apartments at Pearly Shells as well as 4 (four) spacious penthouses on the top floor with the most spectacular views. Our self-catering apartments at Pearly Shells are fully equipped with a fridge, microwave and stove. On the property there is a swimming pool, braai area and leisure room with table tennis, pool table, games and large screen TV for popular sport events, where evenings can be happily occupied with family and friends. Four excellent golf courses, bowling greens, squash courts, scuba diving and rock fishing are all close by. T C Robertson Nature Reserve is only 200m from our doorstep and Pearly Shells is in close proximity to scenic drives and places of interest all along our beautiful South Coast.

A cool and cloudy start to Friday here at Pearly Shells! 💙 It's around 17°C this morning, with temperatures expected to climb to a pleasant 22–23°C during the day. Expect plenty of cloud cover, with little chance of rain until later this evening. 🌥️🌴

We're expecting a breezy day along the South Coast, with south to south-westerly winds reaching approximately 20–26 km/h. 💨 Although the skies may remain grey, it's shaping up to be a fairly dry day, with showers becoming more likely tonight. 🌦️

🌊 DID YOU KNOW? 🎣🐟

A WORLD-RECORD FISH WAS CAUGHT RIGHT OFF SCOTTBURGH! 🏆

On 14 March 1982, angler Michael John Wilkinson landed an enormous 44.91 kg couta (king mackerel) off Scottburgh, KwaZulu-Natal!

Fishing aboard his 16-foot boat, Lorna Lee, Michael was trolling a Rapala lure when the monster struck.

After a thrilling 15-minute battle, he managed to land the fish.

But here's the incredible part — he didn't even realise he'd caught a world record until days later! 😲

The catch earned him the International Game Fish Association's All-Tackle World Record for narrow-barred Spanish mackerel.

More than four decades later, this remarkable Scottburgh catch remains part of international angling history!

A beautiful, fresh and mostly sunny start to Wednesday here at Pearly Shells! 💙 It's around 18°C this morning, with plenty of sunshine expected and temperatures climbing to a lovely 27°C during the day. ☀️🌴

We're expecting a pleasant morning along the South Coast, with light north-westerly winds of around 8–10 km/h, turning southerly and strengthening to approximately 25–28 km/h by midday. 💨 With very little chance of rain, it's shaping up to be another gorgeous day along our beautiful coastline!

There's something truly special about an early morning on Scottburgh Beach. ☀️

As the sun rises over the Indian Ocean, golden reflections dance across the water, gentle waves roll towards the shore, and a few early risers enjoy the peaceful beauty of our coastline.

Look closely and you'll spot a few tiny figures on the rocks — a lovely reminder of just how magnificent nature is around us. 🌴

Sometimes the most beautiful moments are the simplest ones, and Scottburgh certainly has plenty of those to share. 💛

Just down the road from Scottburgh is Park Rynie — but have you ever wondered who “Rynie” was? 🤔

The seaside town, established in 1857, was named after a woman whose nickname was “Rynie.” 💙

Her husband was involved with the company that purchased the land for development, and her nickname eventually became the name of the entire town!

So Park Rynie isn't named after a park at all — it's a little piece of a woman's name that has survived on the KZN South Coast for almost 170 years. 🌊
