The Village Lodge self-catering lapa is a unique space where self-catering guests can prepare and enjoy their own meals, or relax around a fire in the built-in braai while waiting for the coals to be ready for their meat.

The space has a gas stove, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, and all the necessary pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. As long as you do your own dishes.

After a lot of rain over the last day or so, we had a look to see what the streams in the forest looked like. We only got as far as the stream just inside the Plaatbos forest gate. Usually it's just a slow flow under the road before cascading down the gorge. This morning, it's a raging torrent of water flooding across the old Storms River Pass road.
