A Harvest With Purpose 🐘

A memorable hunt with our hunter from North Carolina, harvesting a mature elephant bull.

Elephant management is one of the most complex conservation challenges facing many of Southern Africa’s private reserves. The reserve is legally permitted to carry only 30 elephants, yet the current population has grown to over 180.

When elephant numbers exceed the habitat’s carrying capacity, the pressure on vegetation, water resources and other wildlife becomes increasingly significant. Responsible, legal harvesting forms part of the broader management strategy aimed at bringing elephant numbers back toward sustainable levels.

This is not simply about taking an animal. It is about managing a population, protecting habitat and maintaining a healthy ecosystem for the wildlife that depends on it.

Every elephant harvested is done within the framework of the applicable permits, quotas and conservation regulations.

Following the footsteps of giants — with conservation at the heart of every hunt.

There are trophies, and then there are warriors.

This old buffalo has earned every scar. Broken tips, a battle-worn face, and an emaciated body tell the story of a bull that has survived years of fighting, drought, predators, and the relentless challenge of life in the African bush.

These are the animals that define fair chase. Not because of their size alone, but because of the incredible journey they’ve endured. Every mark is a chapter in a life lived on their own terms.

To spend time tracking a bull like this, matching wits with one of Africa’s toughest animals, is what buffalo hunting is truly about. A fitting end for a true old warrior.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it to the 2026 DSC Summer Expo this year, and we’re disappointed to have missed catching up with so many friends, clients, and fellow hunters.

To everyone who stopped by looking for us or planned to meet us—thank you for your continued support. We truly appreciate this incredible community.

We’re already looking forward to seeing everyone at DSC in Atlanta in 2027. We can’t wait to catch up, share stories from the bush, and help you start planning your next African safari.

Until then, stay safe, shoot straight, and we’ll see you in Atlanta!
