Meet William Wilkinson: Wakkerstroom's Bee Keeper (definately not an apiarist!) and his artist wife Juanita.
"Apiarsts don't get stung," says William. "I do, often."
For the past 12 years William has been producing liquid gold, battling frost, building his own hives, and working after dark when the bees are in a better mood than he is.
His latest achievement? Breeding his own queen bees to help grow healthy new swarms.
By his side is his wife Juanita - talented artist, biggest supporter, and the queen bee of the operation. Together they're one of Wakkerstroom's most special couples: he creates honey and she creates art, and both make our town a sweeter place.
