Konkamoya is the only lodge on the banks of the Itezhi Tezhi Lake in the southern part of the Kafue National Park in Zambia. Located in the midst of a teeming wildlife reserve, lions, leopards and elephants are no strangers to the camp. Our certicated guide Jonah Mudenda can take you up close and personal to four of the big five on day and night game drives. The lodge offers 4 luxury tents on thei

r private deck facing the Itezhi Tezhi lake. Family tents can be organized. King size bed, sofas, changing area and partially open bathroom with flushing toilet and hot water. While offering the modern comforts - such as wifi internet connection, electricity and plugs to charge electrical appliances - Konkamoya takes its mission of sustainability and eco friendliness seriously. Hot water is heated in cast iron boilers and electricity is provided by solar power. All buidlings are constructed to provide quality durability without permanancy. All non degradable materials in camp could be removed within days, to return the clearing to its pristine natural state. About 1 km from the lodge we have Hippobay Camps with 3 traditional chalet self catering and a beautiful camp with ablution facilities for those wishing to 'rough it'. Three nights at Konkamoya are beautiful.
Six nights are something else.
Because after a while, you stop counting what you’ve seen.
You stop wondering what’s next.
You know how the light changes over Lake Itezhi-Tezhi.
When the lodge becomes quiet.
When to head out and when it’s worth doing absolutely nothing at all.
There’s no longer a feeling that you have to fit everything in.
The days begin to have their own rhythm.

MORE THAN A VISIT…

Two weeks that simply flew by.menzaghi and .lavazza came to experience Zambia up close: Bauleni with and , then . And, almost without realizing it, they became part of our everyday life.

Time in the kitchen with our team, game drives, sunsets, long chats, laughter and so many moments shared together.

You arrive thinking about all the things you’ll do together, and you leave realizing how deeply you’ve connected.

When it was time to say goodbye, the hugs and tears said everything else.

Some encounters stay with us long after the journey ends.

A quiet moment, a camera in hand, and a herd of elephants moving together in the distance. A reminder that the most extraordinary experiences in travel are often the ones we simply stop to observe.

Today, on World Elephant Day, we celebrate these remarkable animals and the wild places they call home.

Because travelling is not only about seeing the world.

For two weeks, our kitchen became a place of exchange.

Chef .menzaghi joined the Konkamoya team not simply to cook, but to work side by side sharing techniques, ideas, experience and curiosity.

There were new flavours to explore, dishes to refine, plenty of tasting, and the kind of learning that only happens when people cook together.

Because the best training doesn’t just leave you with new recipes. It leaves you with new ways of thinking.
