Set high above the Save River in south-eastern Zimbabwe is Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge.

Enjoying a magnificent location overlooking Gonarezhou National Park, Zimbabwe’s second largest National Park, the lodge has undergone a stunning and extensive refurbishment. Offering 10 luxury all-inclusive lodges, a self-catering camp and a wide range of activities, Chilo ensures guests can truly feel part of untamed Africa. Activities include game drives to the iconic Chilojo Cliffs, guided walks from the lodge to a viewpoint looking out over the roaring Chivilila Falls, and cultural visits to Mahenye Village where guests can experience the local Shangaan way of life. The Chilo Gorge Guides are experienced, friendly and professional, offering expert local knowledge. They include Clive Stockil, the founding father of the CAMPFIRE project, whose passion for the African bush and conservation has been recognised with numerous local and international awards. Most recently he was honoured with the inaugural Prince William Award for Conservation in Africa in recognition of a lifetime spent dedicated to wildlife conservation. At Chilo Gorge we are committed to maintaining the beauty of the pristine wilderness, the integrity of its native wildlife and to create an unrivalled safari experience for our guests. Gonarezhou is blessed with authentic wilderness and guests rarely see another vehicle in the park, but instead get to enjoy the abundant and diverse wildlife, birdlife and flora in their natural environment.

There's been some serious predator action around Chilo and in Gonarezhou over the past few weeks! 🐆

Some of our favourite sightings include a leopard kill, lions and a pack of 25 wild dogs (with puppies!).

We are so lucky to be in such gorgeous corner of the world, and we would love to share it with you.

Among the birdsong and flowering plants, dotting colour across the bush, there has also been an increase in predator activity near the lodge – particularly some very impressive lion sightings. 🦁
