Some relationships aren't measured in years. They're measured in decades.
Victoria Falls Safari Lodge helped establish the Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching Unit (VFAPU) in 1999. And we're still here.
On 18 September, golfers, businesses, sponsors and friends came together once again at Borrowdale Brooke Golf Course for the annual VFAPU Fundraising Golf Day, to help protect the wildlife of Victoria Falls. 36 teams and 144 players took part, with support coming from businesses and individuals across Zimbabwe.
The VFAPU Golf Day is a day we are incredibly proud to organise, but our relationship with VFAPU extends throughout the year.
We help fund scout salaries. We contribute equipment and supplies. We cover all the costs of staging the Golf Day so that every cent raised can support the Unit's work.
We do it because this is home.
Victoria Falls Safari Collection has been part of this community for more than three decades. We have grown here, employed our staff from here, welcomed visitors here and built our future here.
And we know that part of being here for the long run is helping to protect the wildlife and landscape that make Victoria Falls so extraordinary.
Thank you to every golfer, sponsor, donor and friend who joined us this year - and to the VFAPU scouts whose work continues long after the last putt has dropped.
