Schools are back, residents are returning, business travel is picking up and Dubai's calendar of events, entertainment and experiences is building as we head towards the traditionally busier months of the year.

There is no question that regional conflict and the resulting disruption to international travel impacted visitor movement during the summer. While we await Dubai's latest official visitor figures, the bigger tourism picture gives us plenty of reason for confidence.

Dubai welcomed a record 19.59 million international overnight visitors in 2025, up 5% year-on-year. And 2026 started strongly, with 2 million international overnight visitors arriving in January alone, up approximately 3% on January 2025.

Now, as September gets underway, the signs of Dubai's visitor season gathering pace are returning from business travel and events to families, holidaymakers and those coming to the city for longer stays.

And Dubai's education community continues to grow. This academic year will see 26 new private education institutions opening across the emirate, including seven new schools providing almost 17,000 additional places for students.
