THIS SUNDAY 21 June we'll be open for drinks and light meals in the afternoon as we welcome Michael Beaumont: 'I'll bet you think this song is about you...' to the Royal stage.

Michael brings a selection of songs, stories and tunes reflecting life in Dungog. His music is quiet and easy to decipher while slowly disrupting your emotions.

All of the songs were written in the last 24 months here in Dungog, you may never be able to say who or what each one is about, but you'll immediately recognise the scenarios. Last year's show was standing room only. This time he's joined by Peter Smith on electric guitar.

The gig starts from 2.00pm. We hope to see you Sunday!

While the bar and dining take a break from June, accommodation at the Royal remains open seven days as usual.

Dungog and the Barrington Tops are worth a visit any time of year, and winter in this neck of the woods has its own appeal. A good base, a comfortable room, and the region on your doorstep.

After six and a half years of restoring the Royal to its former glory, owners Howard and Andrew are testing the market to see if there's anyone interested in taking it over.

In the meantime, we're simplifying our offering after the long weekend. From Monday 9 June, we'll be running accommodation only until the end of June, with the occasional special event. What happens from July will depend on interest in the sale.

🍳Saturday & Sunday: breakfast from 8.00am
