What. A. Night. ✨🔥

Our Winter Solstice Ball at the Carrington was nothing short of magical — and the costumes absolutely did not disappoint. From kings and queens to maidens, knights, medieval royalty, wenches and peasants, every guest brought the spirit of the Middle Ages to life in spectacular style.

The Grand Dining Room was transformed into a scene straight from another era, filled with music, laughter, dancing and unforgettable moments as we welcomed the longest night of the year together.

And as if the night couldn’t get any more memorable… there was even a wedding proposal beneath the glow of the Winter Solstice celebrations 💍✨ Congratulations to the happy couple!

To everyone who joined us — thank you for making this our best Winter Solstice Ball yet. You all looked incredible and helped create a truly unforgettable evening.

Unfortunately, due to injury following an accident at home over the weekend, Vince Jones has been advised by his doctor not to perform this weekend while he recovers from concussion and a wrist injury due to a fall.

As a result, Vince Jones at the Baroque Room Katoomba has been postponed. A new date will be announced soon.

Step back in time through one of the most iconic spaces at The Carrington ✨

Our Billiards Room has long been a place for guests to gather, relax and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the hotel. From this beautiful image captured around 1915 by photographer Harry Phillips, to a 1985 Sydney Morning Herald photograph, and most recently in 2022 by Liam Foster, the room has seen more than a century of stories unfold.

While the furnishings and styles have changed over the decades, the character and charm of the space remain wonderfully intact. The original details, grand proportions and timeless elegance continue to make the Billiards Room a favourite part of the hotel.

We are incredibly honoured to have received the 2026 Heritage Awards People’s Choice Award for our Grand Dining Room renovation.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who voted for us and continues to support The Carrington Hotel. This award means so much to our team, whose dedication and commitment to preserving this iconic building and an important part of the Blue Mountains heritage is at the heart of everything we do.

We are truly grateful for the ongoing support from our local community and everyone who took the time to vote. This recognition is a wonderful acknowledgement of the work, care, and passion that goes into preserving and celebrating the history of this special place for future generations.
