EXPERIENCED COOK? WANT YOUR WEEKENDS BACK?

The Central Riverton is looking for an experienced Cook to join our Kitchen Team.

Monday to Friday | 20+ hours per week | Ongoing position

Our kitchen is busy, established and performing well — we're simply looking for the right person to make a strong team even stronger.

You don't need to be a qualified chef, but proven commercial kitchen experience is essential.

You'll need to be confident with food prep, running a fry section, working through a busy service and keeping your section clean and organised.

But experience is only part of it.

We're looking for someone with the right attitude — reliable, positive, a good communicator and someone who genuinely enjoys being part of a team.

What we can offer:

Monday to Friday hours
Minimum 20 hours per week
Ongoing, stable employment
Additional hours potentially available
Competitive hospitality rates based on experience
A supportive, established kitchen team
And yep… your weekends back!

People hear "pub kitchen" in a small town and picture a heat-in-the-oven parmy and chips. We like proving them wrong.

Lamb massaman curry with house-made garlic naan. Szechuan pork belly stir fry on udon noodles. A burrito bowl that'd hold its own in the city. And that's just the international section, we haven't even started on the pastas, the steaks, or the burgers yet.

This week's a good one to pop in if you haven't been for a while. The kitchen's doing things most people don't expect from a country pub. Confit duck spring rolls. Slow cooked pork belly tacos. Lamb ragu pappardelle. And that's before you get to the steaks. Delish!

We love Fridays at The Central!

Roast of the week, $25, served 12pm to 2pm.

Two meat trays up for grabs tonight in the raffle, proceeds straight to local sporting clubs.

And of course, tomorrow can be a Saturday sleep in!

Legend has it the Margherita pizza was created in 1889 for an actual Queen, tomato, mozzarella and basil chosen to match the colours of the Italian flag.

Whether that story's true or just very good marketing, we like the idea behind it.

Thursday night is $25 Pizza Night at The Central. Made fresh in house and fit for a Queen, though there’s no need to be royal to come along and enjoy one.
