Spring is putting on quite a show at Stonewell. Fresh green growth in the vineyard, tiny flower clusters on all the vines, and longer days to enjoy it all.

Our Spring Fling package gives you a closer look at life here, with Evan taking you through the vineyard in the ATV buggy and sharing what’s happening this season.

There’s plenty to taste, too. Lunch for two at FINO Seppeltsfield, a gin tasting at Seppeltsfield Road Distillers, and Barossa provisions to enjoy back at your cottage. Our estate-grown Pfeif & Bell Stonewell Shiraz brings a little of the vineyard to your table.

Evan’s engineering days are still coming in handy in the vineyard.

Before returning to the Barossa, he worked in automotive mechanical engineering. These days, he puts those skills to work designing and building vineyard machinery here at Stonewell.

One of his solutions combines several jobs into fewer trips along the vine rows. Less driving up and down means less fuel used, while still getting the work done.

It’s a practical side of caring for this place that you might not notice from your cottage. Though if you get Evan talking machinery, you’ll soon hear all about it.

There’s a lot growing at Stonewell beyond the grapes.

Since 2013, Evan has planted more than 5,000 Barossa native plants across our property. You’ll see many of them around the lake and along the walking paths, providing habitat for the wildlife that shares this place with us.

It’s work that happens gradually. Planting, tending and watching what takes hold through the seasons.

If you come across Evan out on the property, ask him about it. The native plantings are something he cares deeply about, and there’s far more to their story than you might notice on a first stroll.

For Tina, the answer starts with getting to know a little about you.

Perhaps you love a long lunch. Perhaps you’d rather spend the day walking, meet a local maker or discover somewhere you hadn’t thought to visit.

Her years as a travel consultant come in handy, but so does living here. These are places we visit ourselves and people we’ve known for years.

Hentley Farm has received One MICHELIN Star and FINO Seppeltsfield a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand in Australia’s very first MICHELIN Guide. Such lovely recognition for two restaurants we’re proud to have as part of the Stonewell experience.

For us, looking after our guests has always extended beyond the cottage door. It’s helping you find a special table, sharing the places we love and knowing you’ll be warmly welcomed when you arrive.
