We are so excited to have Peggy Fletcher share her art at Courtyard Cafe in Hotel Grand Pacific for October and November!

Peggy Fletcher is a local Victoria artist who has lived most of her life on Vancouver Island.

She paints with oils in her home studio or en plein air. As an active, outdoorsy person, Peggy is naturally drawn to painting local landscapes. Her artwork is an extension of what is important to her: nature, movement, exercise, family, and community. She loves where she lives and is constantly inspired by the beauty and life that surrounds her on Vancouver Island. She has been selling her paintings locally for the past 17 years through her website, studio tours, art festivals and local shows and galleries.

Peggy is an exhibiting member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, the Al Frescoes Plein Air group, and the Hills to Shore Studio Tour.

Today invites us to reflect on the legacy of residential schools, to honour the children who never returned home, and to recognize the resilience of Survivors, their families, and Indigenous communities across the country.

We acknowledge and give thanks to the lək̓ʷəŋən People, known today as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations, on whose traditional and unceded territories we are privileged to work and welcome guests.

Meaningful reconciliation begins with learning and understanding. We encourage everyone to take time today to explore Indigenous voices, histories, and perspectives, and to deepen their awareness of the ongoing impacts of residential schools.
