Each art’otel is shaped by a Signature Artist, creating a dialogue between place, people and creativity.

For Cologne, that voice belongs to Seo Soo Kyoung, a Berlin-based artist known for her exceptionally detailed mixed-media canvases.

Born in South Korea, SEO explores her dual cultural identity through intricate compositions built from thousands of strips of handmade Hanji paper, layered with acrylic paint and precise line work. Having studied under contemporary icon Georg Baselitz at Universität der Künste, she has gone on to establish herself as a significant figure in German contemporary art.

At art’otel Cologne, her presence is immersive. More than 300 works unfold throughout the hotel, each piece rich in colour, texture and detail, inviting guests to pause, look closer and discover something new with every glance.
