Next November the 14th we'll be revisiting the times when Cartagena was first founded under Carthaginian rule (1st pic) more than 2.200 years ago, to later become a Roman colony by the beginning of our era (2nd pic). By the way, did you know that back to the Old Town there was a shallow lagoon which only completely disappeared by the late 19th century and that can be noticed in both images?

⚠️ ¡ ! Ya lo tenemos a las puertas.

📝 Será en la noche del sábado 24 al domingo 25 de . A las 3 hora peninsular, retrasaremos los relojes una hora para volver a marcar las 2. En Canarias, las 2 pasarán a ser la 1. Amanecerá y anochecerá más temprano.

📢 Aunque tanto el Gobierno de España, como el Parlamento y la Comisión Europea, se han pronunciado a favor de eliminar los cambios de hora en el futuro, todavía no existe una decisión definitiva al respecto. Seguiremos esperando… a ver en qué queda todo.

Back in 1863, the whole La Manga strip was bought by a former shepherd called Miguel Zapata, nicknamed ‘Uncle Wolf’: it was the beginning of a local empire who turned mining into its main source of income. Later on, the tycoon settled in Portmán, to die in 1918, for nearly all his assets to be purchased by a French company that, in the second half of the 20th century, changed the surrounding scenery through pit mining, even building a train to transport the ore over the sierra. The main aftermath: Portman’s bay got filled with the waste from that activity, which only ended in 1992.
