Rowanlea Lodge is in an idyllic rural setting just outside the village of Marykirk, Aberdeenshire. There are many routes for walks and cyclists close by.

The pub has a superb cosy wood burner and the restaurant a lovely open fire. The River Esk is a short walk from the lodge which is famous for its salmon and trout fishing. There are various places of interest to visit within 25 miles, there is a choice of Glamis, Crathes and Dunnotar castle, also the famous Balmoral castle a little further away. Glenshee Ski & Snowboard Centre and the Lecht Ski Centre are approximatley 50 miles from the Lodge. Montrose Basin Wildlife Centre is a local nature reserve home to over 50,000 migratory birds for those interested. There is plenty wild life on our doorstep, deer, squirrels and many birds. This is a perfect getaway for a relaxing break in the countryside with fantastic views across the Cairn O Mount. This high quality Lodge has been built from Scottish Douglas Fir trees and has a Scottish theme throughout which will provide a unique Log Cabin experience. This self catering accommodation has been decorated and furnished to a high standard comprising of one downstairs double bedroom, an open plan living room/kitchen, a shower room and an upstairs open plan bedroom and sitting area that sleeps four. All rooms are heated and the main living area has a log burner. Well behaved pets are welcome. Welcome packages can be provided on request for special occasions.

❤️It was so lovely to read this review from Jonathan after his recent week at Rowanlea Lodge. ❤️

🏰 It sounds like he really made the most of his time here from relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying the views, to exploring Braemar, Aberdeen, Dundee, the Highlands, castles and some of our beautiful fishing villages along the coast ⚓️

I especially loved hearing that he made friends with the rabbits, birds and even a toad at the lodge! 🐇🐦🐸 And of course, no trip is complete without discovering a good cake shop🍰😂

😍VIEWS LIKE THIS😍

I've been spending a few days here doing all the little touch ups and jobs that are so easy to put off. 🏡✨

It’s so important to actually block out the time to stay on top of things keeping everything fresh, well maintained and up to the standard we want for our guests.

And after a productive day or two this isn’t a bad way to wind down… fire on, glass of red and that sunset. 🔥🍷🌅
