It is with deep sadness that we share the sudden passing of our dear friend and former cook, Sally Stewart.
Sally became so much more than a member of our team — she became our friend. During a difficult time for us last year, she stepped in without hesitation and ran our kitchen with love, dedication and care. She prepared countless meals, catered special events, and even transformed the pub with her incredible Halloween decorations. Alongside Ben and Davie, Sally helped keep the pub going while our family took an extended break, and we will always be grateful for everything she did.
Sally built many close friendships within our village and was deeply devoted to her family and friends. She was always there to listen, offer a shoulder to lean on, or brighten someone’s day with her wonderful sense of humour, empathy and kindness.
A friend shared words that capture Sally perfectly: “Sally was such a powerful woman and, at the same time, so gentle.” We couldn’t think of a more fitting tribute.
Our thoughts are with Sally’s family, her friends, and our whole community as we try to come to terms with this heartbreaking loss.
We are devastated that Sally is no longer with us, and we send all our love, strength and deepest condolences to her sons — Davie, Dylan and Adam — and to her father and all of her family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
Please reach out to one another if you need support, a chat, or simply some company. Let’s continue to look after each other and hold Sally’s family especially close in the days and weeks ahead.
Sending love to you all. ❤️
