Five, The Feeling and Lucy Spraggan are taking to the stage, with BBC Introducing showcasing some of the region’s up-and-coming talent too.

Then at 9.10pm, Paddy McGuinness gets the all-important job of switching on the Blackpool Illuminations, followed by fireworks from the Tower. 🎆

One of the nicest things about being on Queens Promenade?

You can step outside, get some sea air and have a wander without needing a grand plan.

Although this being Blackpool, a “quick walk” does have a habit of turning into several hours, fish and chips and somebody suggesting another drink 😂
