The Stables Bowness On Windermere is a 19th Century stable block now converted into quirky apartments All are perfect for a romantic break in the Lake District.

Located in Bowness on Windermere, in the heart of the Lake District, you will find The Stables. With free private parking, free WiFi and lots of quirky features in the 3 cosy self catering apartments, we aim to make you feel very welcome. Upstairs, there is The Round Window and The Stable Loft and downstairs is The Stable Nest. It is a short stroll to Lake Windermere and there are plenty of walking, cycling and climbing routes right on your door step. Bowness is full of things to do with Beatrix Potter world, an old fashioned cinema, theatre and oodles of pubs, bars and restaurants all in easy walking distance. There is a train station a mile up the hill and a bus stop a minute away so we believe it is the perfect location to explore the wonderful and beautiful English Lake District.

The great thing about self catering in the Lake District with us is that you can get up when you want, nip to a local cafe for breakfast or make a snack in the comfort of your own apartment. It saves money too. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes to choose from on your door step if you prefer to eat out. The choice is yours. Enjoy!

B&B's in the Lake District are fabulous but sometimes you just want your own space. If you prefer getting up when you wish, making your own breakfast or popping to a nearby cafe then self catering is the way to go.

We fell in love with the Lake District then bought our first self catering apartment back in 2009. Our apartments have been welcoming couples and families to the Lake District ever since. When have you got your next short break to Bowness on Windermere booked?
