On Saturday 31st October 2026, Freemasons from across the country, including representatives from Cambridgeshire, gathered at the Royal British Legion Remembrance Gardens in Alrewas for the National Freemasons’ Service of Remembrance.

The occasion provided an opportunity to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice, as representatives laid wreaths in remembrance of the fallen.

A moving and poignant day for everyone who attended, remembering those who gave so much for our freedom.

I’ve kept it close to the original, but changed the wording sufficiently to make it your own. The final paragraph also gives it a little more meaning when accompanied by photographs of the wreath-laying ceremony.

Freemasonry in Action – Supporting Cambridge Street Pastors

The Lodge of Three Grand Principles No. 441 is delighted to have supported the Cambridge Street Pastors with a donation of ÂŁ300, which was generously matched by the City & University of Cambridge Masonic Charitable Trust through its Bethel Match Funding Scheme, bringing the total donation to ÂŁ600.

PProvSGW Bob Hammett spent five hours with the Street Pastors to see first-hand the fantastic work they do in supporting vulnerable people across Cambridge.

The Street Pastors provide invaluable practical help to those experiencing difficult circumstances, including blankets and advice on emergency accommodation. They also look out for young people who may find themselves vulnerable after a night out.

Their night shelter offers a safe and welcoming place where people can enjoy something to eat, have a cup of tea, charge their phones or wait to be reunited with friends.

Charity has always been close to the hearts of Freemasons, but our commitment goes beyond fundraising. Community engagement is about supporting those who make a real difference to people's lives.

🧸 A very special donation to Teddies for Loving Care

We were recently contacted by Paula, whose mother-in-law, Ruth, sadly passed away.

Ruth had always loved collecting teddies and, having worked in schools, she also understood just how much comfort and enjoyment a teddy can bring to children.

When the family were looking for a charity to support through donations at Ruth’s funeral, they discovered Teddies for Loving Care and felt it was a fitting way to remember her.

Thanks to the generosity of family and friends, over ÂŁ300 was raised for Teddies for Loving Care

On behalf of everyone involved with Teddies for Loving Care in the Province of Cambridgeshire, a huge thank you to Paula and all of Ruth’s family and friends for this wonderful and thoughtful donation.

We are delighted that Ruth’s love of teddies will continue to bring comfort and a little happiness to children when they need it most. 🧸❤️

🎓 University Freemasonry is thriving in Cambridge!

It’s encouraging to see such strong interest in Freemasonry among new students at the University of Cambridge.

More than 80 Freshers signed up to the Cambridge University Freemasonry Society (CUFS) WhatsApp group at this week’s Freshers’ Fair, with a Meet & Greet event planned for next week at The Anchor.

Cambridgeshire Freemasons are proud to support university Freemasonry and initiatives that introduce a new generation to our fraternity, creating opportunities for friendship, personal development and a shared sense of community.

Our thanks to everyone involved in promoting the Society and welcoming new students. We wish CUFS every success for the year ahead!

❤️ CPR training can save lives

Another valuable East Anglian Air Ambulance community training session, this time with the Cambridgeshire County Council Road Safety Team, who used the one-hour CPR and defibrillator awareness session as part of their Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

The session was delivered by Tony Barrios, East Anglian Air Ambulance Charity volunteer trainer, and Cambridgeshire Freemason, helping the team build confidence in recognising a cardiac arrest, starting CPR and using a defibrillator.

Cambridgeshire Freemasons are proud to support EAAA and its work to bring these potentially lifesaving skills into our local communities.

A New Home for Wisbech Freemasonry

Wisbech Freemasonry has entered a new chapter with the opening and dedication of its impressive new Masonic Centre on Lynn Road.

The building, close to Freedom Bridge, has been transformed from its former use as a police station and magistrates' court into a modern and welcoming home for Freemasonry in the north of the Province.

There is plenty of history within its walls. The present building was opened in 1957, replacing Wisbech's old South Brink police station. Its exterior was designed to complement the Georgian architecture for which Wisbech is renowned.

The building served as both a police station and magistrates' court for many years. The court finally closed in 2011 as part of the national programme of court closures, leaving a prominent building with an uncertain future.

It has now been given a completely new purpose.

Following considerable work by the Trustees, led by their Chairman, W.Bro. Michael Humphrey PGStbB, the former court has been transformed into a facility fit for the future of Wisbech Freemasonry.

The new centre includes the impressive Colin Hutchinson Room, providing a spacious meeting and social area complete with a bar. There are also additional meeting facilities, including the Bill Dastur Provincial Robing Room.

The Lodge room itself has its own piece of Masonic history, with the carpet having been bequeathed by W. Bro. Andrew Pallant PPSGD.

Around 80 Brethren and guests attended the dedication, with the Provincial team led by Provincial Grand Master R.W. Bro. Mark Shields. It was an opportunity to see the results of the hard work that has gone into the project and to recognise the contribution made by the Trustees and everyone involved in bringing the building back into use.

The formal proceedings were followed by an excellent Festive Board, giving everyone the opportunity to relax, enjoy good company and celebrate what has been achieved.

The new centre also represents another chapter in the long Masonic history of Wisbech. For many years, the town's Lodges and Chapter have met at the Masonic Rooms in The Crescent. The new premises provide modern facilities and a larger home in which Wisbech Freemasonry can continue to develop.

There is something particularly appropriate about the building's transformation. A place that once served the community as a police station and courthouse has been given a new lease of life as a place for friendship, fellowship and Freemasonry.

For those who have never ventured as far north as Wisbech, there is now an excellent reason to make the journey.

Isaac Newton University Lodge No. 859 was delighted to host the 2026 Festival of the Association of Medical, University and Legal Lodges (AMULL) at the magnificent Queens’ College, Cambridge.

Members and guests from across England and Wales enjoyed a memorable day of friendship, learning and charity. The day began with an ecumenical service in the College Chapel, with the lessons read by Jonathan Spence, Pro Grand Master of UGLE, and Sir David Wootton, AMULL President and former Assistant Grand Master.

This was followed by a fascinating lecture on 800 years of Queens’ College and Cambridge University history, before guests enjoyed a ch*****ne reception and lunch in the splendid Old Hall.

A wonderful celebration of friendship, learning and the traditions of university Freemasonry.
