A little guide to our corner of Cornwall... 🌊🌿

From warming up after a morning sea swim with our friends at Saunas By The Sea and exploring the streets of Padstow to hopping on a bike with Padstow Cycle Hire, zooming around the estuary with Wavehunters, discovering hidden rock pools and wandering the coastal paths, there’s plenty to keep you busy around THE PIG-at Harlyn Bay, all before you head back to ours to cosy up for the evening.

Last few spaces left for our upcoming Pumpkin Floral Arrangement Workshop & Dinner over in the South Downs!🍂

Join us at THE PIG-in the South Downs on Thursday 29th October for an afternoon celebrating all things autumn, with a two hour pumpkin flower arranging workshop hosted by Leanne from Wildstone Botanica, followed by a two-course supper in the restaurant.

In this hands-on workshop, you'll begin by de-seeding your pumpkin before working with fresh flowers, foliage and plenty of autumnal texture, creating a completely foam-free design inside a beautifully understated pumpkin.

After the workshop, you'll gather around one big table in the restaurant for a proper two-course dinner.

Autumn in the New Forest calls for wellies, woolly layers and a good dose of fresh country air... 🍂🌿

As the days turn cooler and the leaves begin to fall, there’s no better time to wrap up warm and head out exploring. Think long woodland walks, crunchy leaves underfoot and, if you’re lucky, a few four-legged friends snuffling around for acorns as pannage season gets underway! 🐖

Then make your way back to our patch to warm up with a proper pot of tea and a slice of fluffy homemade cake.

On Wednesday, we welcomed bestselling author Lucy Foley and Fearne to THE PIG-near Bath over in Somerset, as a special part of Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place Book Club – to celebrate the latest addition to the Miss Marple series: Murder at the Grand Alpine Hotel!

Co-authored by Lucy Foley and the estate of Agatha Christie, we spent the afternoon digging into Miss Marple’s latest mystery, with plenty of lively conversation, a laid-back (and properly moreish) PIG season lunch, and a rather lovely Miss Marple-inspired Marasca Mystery cherry brandy tipple.🍸

Join Pete, our Head Kitchen Gardener at THE PIG-at Combe, for a wander through the beds as he takes a closer look at the squashes of all shapes, sizes and colours bringing our Kitchen Garden to life as the seasons shift, to help bring the 25 mile menu together not just now, but over the coming months 🎃
