There’s another brilliant Cemaes community event coming up - the Cemaes Duck Race!

It’s a bit of seaside fun for a great cause too, with all profits going towards Cemaes Carnival 2027.

Just a 10–15 minute drive from Dolfor, the sweeping sea views of Cemaes Bay give way to the extraordinary, almost other-worldly landscape of Parys Mountain, Amlwch.

Once the heart of Anglesey’s copper industry, Parys Mountain became probably the largest copper mine in the world during the 1780s. Mining here actually stretches back much further, with evidence of activity dating back around 4,000 years to the Bronze Age.

The huge open workings and their incredible reds, oranges, yellows and browns are the legacy of centuries of mining; and make this feel like one of the most unusual landscapes anywhere on the island.

Stay at Dolfor and you can go from the beach and harbour to this remarkable landscape in just a few minutes.

What a fantastic Cemaes Carnival!

Yesterday Cemaes was absolutely buzzing as the Carnival filled the village with colour, music and plenty of smiles.

From the drummers and decorated cars to unicorns, Transformers and an enormous Welsh dragon, the parade was a brilliant spectacle — and it was wonderful to see so many people lining the streets and joining in the fun.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved in organising such a successful day, and to all those who took part and made it so memorable.

One of the many things we love about Cemaes Bay is its wonderful sense of community - and yesterday certainly showed it at its very best.
