⚠️ **URGENT WEATHER UPDATE – COASTAL KIPPFORD, DUMFRIES & GALLOWAY** ⚠️
Dear Owners,
The weather situation is worsening, with **Storm Boelo’s wind warning upgraded to AMBER in parts of Scotland** for Saturday night and Sunday. Storm Austen is also bringing heavy rain, with further unsettled weather expected over the weekend.
Please take this warning seriously, particularly if you are planning to travel to the park.
🚨 **TRAVEL ADVICE**
If you are travelling from an area affected by the Amber warning, please reconsider your journey and follow the latest official travel advice. Strong winds, falling trees, debris and road disruption could make travelling dangerous.
🌳 **FALLING TREES AND POWER LINES**
Unfortunately, Coastal Kippford can be particularly vulnerable during severe weather. High winds can bring down trees and overhead power lines, creating dangerous conditions and causing power cuts that are outside our control.
⚡ **POWER CUTS**
Please be prepared for the possibility of losing electricity during the storm. Damage to power lines can affect the park, and restoration times will depend on the extent of any damage.
💧 **WATER SUPPLY**
Our water pumping station relies on electricity to operate. If the power supply is interrupted, our water supply will be limited and may be disrupted until electricity is restored.
✅ **PLEASE PLAN AHEAD**
- Charge mobile phones and power banks.
- Keep torches and essential supplies available.
- Keep some drinking water in reserve in case the pumping station is affected.
- Secure loose outdoor furniture and other items that could be blown around.
- Never approach fallen trees touching power lines or damaged electrical cables.
The safety of our owners, guests and staff must come first. Unfortunately, we cannot control the weather or guarantee uninterrupted electricity and water supplies during severe conditions.
Please monitor the latest warnings before travelling and avoid unnecessary journeys while conditions are dangerous.
