💀 The Story Of Walter De Burgh 💀

If you have stayed with us in the past you may have spotted artwork featuring our city's coat of arms (Swipe to view), if you look closely you'll spot a skeleton, known locally as Walter De Burgh. He has also just appeared in a brand new mural, close to our hotel, commissioned to mark this year's 40th Anniversary of Derry Halloween.

There isn't an official explanation of Walter's history, but he has become, over the years one of the most recognisable symbols of our city.

The Derry Halloween festivities begin today, there's still time to join us!
Enjoy lunch or dinner or join us for our Afternoon Tea inspired by Halloween events on Friday & Saturday.

💭 Tuesday's thought - "There are no strangers here, only friends you have not yet met" 💭

The Irish writer WB Yeats once stayed in our building, during its previous life as the Northern Counties Private Members Club and we've always found that this quote matches with our team's ethos.
Every guest who comes through our revolving door is met with a warm welcome from our Front Office Team who, this week, received a beautiful bouquet of flowers from guests who had travelled from Co. Down to explore the Walled City.

Thank you to all of our front office team and in particular Samantha who only joined our team last week and is already having such a postive impact on guest experiences.

If you'd like to plan a visit to stay, dine or celebrate a special event with our team call 028 71140300.
