Ace photographer Zoran Matic was down at Tanners last weekend and the place was looking lovely in the autumn sunshine. We think we're getting very close to agreeing the lease with the National Trust and getting on with bringing it back into use

It’s the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness! Here’s Tanners peeping out from the woods, seen from Polesden Lacey.

Fingers crossed we might have some big news for you soon!

In our final extract from Nod’s Soul Music appearance she brings us up to date, and looks to the future day when we’ll be singing Wild Mountain Thyme at the newly re-opened Tanners Hatch!

So today’s storytelling from Nod takes us to the heart of what Tanners is about for many of us - making music together

Today’s snippet from Nod’s interview for Radio 4’s Soul Music takes us to probably the most important person in the hostel’s history…..

09/09/2026

You might have heard our Nod talking about Tanners, Graham, and the song Wild Mountain Thyme on Radio 4’s Soul Music on Saturday. Not all of her interview was used so we’re going to be running a few extracts over the next few days, as it’s a great story and she tells it beautifully. Here she is talking about how at Tanners she found somewhere where she could be exactly who she is, which is something countless others have felt there.

Hope you heard our Nod on Soul Music this morning. Here’s a shout out to Maggie Ayre, a skilled interviewer and lovely person who helped Nod tell her story. We’ll be posting excerpts from the interview over the next few days. https://www.instagram.com/maggsa/
