🔥 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 | 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞 & 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 🔥
We’re expecting a busy evening tomorrow at The Steamboat Inn for our annual Bonfire & Fireworks event, and we want everyone to arrive safely and enjoy what promises to be another fantastic evening.
With large numbers expected as usual, we’ve put a few arrangements in place to help keep traffic moving and everyone safe. Please take a moment to read the information below before setting off.
🚧 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 & 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧
Please remember that the road at Islesteps is currently closed, with a signed diversion in place, if you are travelling from Dumfries.
Although you can follow the official diversion, we do recommend travelling via Beeswing to New Abbey, then onwards to Carsethorn.
🚗 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬
Parking will be extremely limited, with single-file parking available from North Carse along the Kirkbean Road.
There will be no parking within Carsethorn village itself. This is to minimise disruption to our neighbours and, importantly, ensure emergency vehicles can get through if needed.
A very limited number of accessible parking spaces will be available on a first come, first served basis.
🚦 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭
We’ll have stewards positioned along the route from Kirkbean to Carsethorn to help direct vehicles and keep traffic moving as safely as possible.
Please be patient, courteous and follow their directions. Our stewards are there to help, and they’ll be working hard to make sure everyone gets in and out safely.
We appreciate that traffic management can sometimes be frustrating, particularly when it’s busy.
🤝 𝐂𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞
If you’re coming along with family or friends, please consider sharing a car. With parking so restricted, every vehicle we can take off the road really does make a difference.
🚫 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝 & 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬
Please don’t park in any areas marked with cones or cordons, even if it looks like there’s space.
These areas have been kept clear for a reason, particularly along the narrower stretches of road where access for emergency vehicles is essential.
⛑️ 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐝 & 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞
We’re very grateful to have several volunteers joining us on the evening, including advanced nurse practitioners and a doctor.
Should anyone require medical assistance during the event, please speak to one of our event stewards, who will be able to direct you to the appropriate support.
❤️ 𝐀 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞
This event brings a huge number of people into our little village every year, and we’re incredibly grateful to our neighbours, volunteers, stewards and everyone who helps make it possible.
Please plan ahead, allow a little extra time for your journey and be mindful of those living in the village.
Most importantly, come along, enjoy yourselves and have a wonderful evening with family and friends!
We look forward to welcoming you all, for another brilliant Bonfire & Fireworks event! 🔥🎆
