We are aware of the recent media coverage relating to an Employment Tribunal involving a 15-year-old employee, who was employed at the Royal Thurso Hotel between May 2024 & July 2024

We would like to make it clear that the matters referred to relate to a previous period of operation at the hotel. Since these events took place, the hotel is now operated by a completely new management and kitchen team.

Both the previous and current management have always operated with a diverse and multicultural workforce, employing and supporting colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds, nationalities and cultures. We are committed to providing a professional, respectful and inclusive working environment for every member of our team.

Discrimination, harassment or unacceptable behaviour of any kind is not tolerated within the current operation.

While we cannot comment in detail on historic Employment Tribunal proceedings involving the previous operation, we believe it is important that the distinction between the previous business and the hotel’s current ownership, management and workforce is made clear.

Our focus remains on our employees, our guests and continuing to build a positive and inclusive workplace.
