Following our opening event on Sunday, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who came along and supported the hotel and our team.

Considering the horrendous weather, I was genuinely delighted and humbled by the number of people who took the time to brave the conditions and join us! Your support and enthusiasm for the changes means a great deal to us.

What made the day particularly special was the wonderful atmosphere created by everyone who attended. It was fantastic to see so many familiar and new faces coming together, enjoying themselves, and helping to make the event such a success. The warmth, positivity and sense of community throughout the day was good to witness.

Thank you once again for your loyalty and support. We look forward to many more days like Sunday.

𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲… 🎶🥂

Hello everyone, the lounge opened this week and so far, has been well received, especially the toilets!

We have been working away to make sure everything is completed and working, in particular the kitchen, the chefs are loving it!! and the food is great.

We are planning an official opening on Sunday 25 October at 12 o’clock. The ribbon will be cut by the lovely Trisha who has worked at the hotel for 52 years and is still with us. Join us for a glass of fizz and a drink in the new lounge and snug, and celebrate with us the lovely, refurbished hotel. Visit the many areas available for drinks/food and parties, also you are welcome to have a wee swatch at the rooms.

Meet the Management Team:- Gillian our General Manager, who has gone from, years ago, cleaning the toilets under the direction of Celia (previous owner) to managing the entire Hotel. Along with Gillian are our two managers, another two long serving members of staff. Jamie Lee here for 22 years and Linzi 15 years (rare in hospitality and more a testament to the previous owners). Along with a great team of supervisors. I want to thank them all for their great support and working in the chaos over the last nine months.

We do of course know there is a football match on Sunday that would ordinarily be showing in the lounge, this will now be shown on the larger screen in the function suite.

Also, until we knew what we were planning for Sunday we couldn’t accept bookings for food, sorry if you have been trying, the books are now open. Please contact us if you want to book for lunch or dinner

We have also created more parking spaces at the rear of the hotel, which will hopefully reduce some of the street parking.

We hope you enjoy the new lounge and make many more happy memories with us 💫

𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐩𝐚𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐮𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 💳

I am hopeful that with the transformation of the hotel it will be better and busier! As many of you know the hospitality industry continues to face increasing costs that are unknown to you, such as a substantial increase in our hotels business rates as well as many other things. Despite this and the refurbishment we are determined to make sure we still maintain a reasonable price structure therefore we must evolve and adapt; by removing cash handling from the business.

Payments by cash has reduced drastically but we still we deal with a small amount of cash that requires banking, where ? The local bank has closed, no surprise there! Therefore, with immediate effect, we will no longer accept payment by cash, only card. This decision will clearly require a transition, so anyone who hasn’t seen this notice or doesn’t have social media and pays by cash can do so until Thursday 22 October, thereafter we will only accept card payments.

We will continue to accept all major debit and credit cards as well as contactless etc.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support , and do look forward to welcoming you soon.

𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 👋

Hello, everyone, At last! I hear you say, after many months of refurbishment the entire hotel will reopen fully on Monday 19 October.

The past nine months have been a significant journey for our team. Gillian and the Management Team would like to thank our loyal customers, local community and supporters for your patience and encouragement. Some of the positive comments have been overwhelming throughout the phased opening of the hotel.

To make sure we are ready, the plan is to close the hotel on Friday 16th, Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th of October for the staff to undertake training and trial services over the weekend. This will involve the staff and management with their invited guests for some food (and drink) as an appreciation of their hard work and patience over the last 9 months.

There are pre booked events this weekend that will of course be honoured. Guests of these events, booked in the restaurant and function suite areas will be more than welcome.

As mentioned once the training, stocking and organisation has been completed the Hotel will open fully on Monday 19 October at 12 o'clock. Please do not call until then to book as we still have so much work to do in advance of the opening. We do however have to say that tables in certain areas may be subject to a time limit during busy periods to ensure as many guests as possible can enjoy the food and drink on offer. This is helped with the creation of the snug for serving drinks only.

When we do open we so look forward to welcoming familiar faces and new visitors to enjoy our refreshed surroundings. No big hurrah on this day, this is what we would term a soft launch.

We will be having a launch (a big hurrah and cutting the ribbon) on Sunday 25 October, with some music and drinks, this will be at 12 o'clock and more information will be available shortly..

In the meantime I personally would like to thank you all for your continued support, sometimes I wished I had closed 🤪 However, we are glad that we managed to keep the hotel open for the community and locals. Many thanks again.

At Last,

We are nearly getting there! Anyone in the area will have seen an incredible amount of activity around the hotel, it has been a major push to finish the hotel as soon as possible.

We have been reluctant to provide dates for the reopening, simply because it would have been a moving date and we didn't want to disappoint our customers. However, we are more confident of an approx. date now and hope to be open over the weekend of 17/18 October.

The exact day and date has yet to be confirmed. Until this date is confirmed we will not be accepting any bookings. We hope to announce the plans on 8th October.

I haven't been able to update you until now, thank you very much for your continued support and for sticking with us. We will issue regular updates in due course.
